I am happy to WELCOME BACK guest blogger MARIA and her SU (Stampin Up) OWL punch critters she creates with it.  This one is sure to steal your heart!  Isn't he cute!  M.B. HedgehOWL named after Micheal Buble - hope I spelled that right and I am allowed to tell.  Doesn't he look like he should be holding a mic and singing?  : )

Ok so now on to Maria and her handsome HedgehOWL...

"Hello dear Followers of Cathie´s Sweetspot. I know I haven´t shown you any new Owl-punch animals in ages, but a lot of things happened in my life during the last months and that was why I wasn´t able to create any new tutorials for you. I hope you will still stick to my now and then Guest-appeareance on Cathie´s Blog as she is doing a wonderful job here.  Thank you Cathie that I´m still allowed to show my creations on your wonderful blog."

So here is my new tutorial:

Here fall/autumn is just arround the corner
and so a lil fellow came into my mind the other day.
My hands started working and created this little guy:

After long time thinking and discussion with a few friends I named him Mr. M.B. Hedgeh-owl.

The name should give it away that I did him with my lovely SU (Stampin Up) Owl-punch. I think he is just so cute :)

So here are written instructions on how I made him.

1. I cut out his body out of beige/cream cardstock and snipped of his ears and made a small nodge on the tophead.
2. I cut out a second body but only the down-half of it to have his feet and a little space above it. Then i cut little arms on this feet on both sides.
3. I punched out a beige/cream heart and a pair of eyes for the little guy and a black nose with a simple whole punch.
4. I inked arround the edges of the body , arms and the heart with brown ink and a sponge dauber.
5. Then I started to glue the whole body together starting with the heart, which will be the nose of Mr. Hedgehowl and then added the black spot for his nose and his eyes.
6. Then I glued the arms on the back of his body.
7. Next step was to cut out his spikes with zig-zag-silouette-scissors, while using his body as template.
8. As last step glue the body on the spikes and voila...he is finished!!!!!!!

If this instructions are too complicated to understand for you...I appologize...but in that case I have a little goodie for you today.....my first ever official online crafting Video-tutorial.

Please bear with me as it´s my really first video-tutorial for a blog. I hope you will like it a little bit....sooo here it is:

MARIA'S YOU TUBE HEDGEHOWL VID

I (Maria) also made a fall card with this little fellow that will be sent to one of my biggest craft idols soon.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

GUEST DESIGNER MARIA & HER SU OWL PUNCH CARDS

I am so
HAPPY
to bring back
GUEST DESIGNER
MARIA
and another one of her
SU OWL PUNCH Cards
for ALL of YOU who treasure her SWEET creations.

MARIA
is so clever and inventive with her
SU OWL PUNCH.

I challenged her last year just before Christmas to come up with a PEACOCK using her SU OWL PUNCH and ' BOY DID SHE DELIVER.' That was the first card she showcased here on my blog last month.

This month she brings yet another SWEET card to US. . .

Please enjoy her PICS and HOW she did it!

YOU will be motivated to make one too!

* If  YOU want to share a pic with us of one you made,  just leave me a comment with your email
(I don't publish comments with emails attatched) and I will arrange with you to add your pic/s following this very post.

I can't think of a better compliment that would be to our Guest Designer. : )

ENJOY!...

Dear Friends of Cathie's Sweet Spot,

Thank you for your positive response on my last post about the 'PEACOWL'.

I´m looking forward to share more SU Owl-punch animals during the next months with you :)

Today´s special animal was invented by myself again, and I was very proud as I finished this Owl-punch Giraffe (feel free to suggest a better name.)

I made this giraffe out of yellow cardstock and punched out the head, horns, eyes and nostrils, body, feet and tail with my SU Owl-punch.

The legs were long strips of yellow cardstock and all body parts have been colored with the giraffe pattern by using my sponge dauber, brown ink and a little piece my sewing thread was on. (The holes on it were perfect to shape-ink all the dots on the giraffe).

All parts were also distressed on their edges with brown ink using my dauber.

The little hat was a cut-piece from a stash of Christmas paper I bought at the craft fair last year.

As final touch, the giraffe got a scarf made of blue fluffy ribbon my friend Christi sent me.

To keep the winter theme of the card,
I punched a few snowflakes out of embossed vellum paper and put a self adhesive pearl in the middle of each.

The sentiment I used is from Lili of the Valley and it just fit the card.

Thank you Cathie for this very great opportunity to show my creations on your amazing Blog :)

I hope you all like this creation and please don´t hestitate to comment.

Have a crafty day!!!  : )

GUEST DESIGNER - MARIA & her SU OWL punch animals

Hello Friends and Followers of  Cathie´s Sweet Spot.

I felt very flattered and touched as Cathie asked me to be a Guest-Designer on her blog to show you all Owl-punch-animals that I did.  I made all these animals using my Stampin UP Owl-punch.

So here is the first animal I want to share with you.

Say hello to the Peac-owl

(AKA Peacock-OWL)

This animal was specially created for Cathie in first place to put on her Christmas tree.

  1. The body for the peacowl was punched with the Owl-punch and then I snipped off the feet and ears of the owl, to get the round body for the peacowl.
  2. As the next step I punched a pair of yellow feet, inked them with red ink and glued them behind the body of the peacowl.
  3. A punched heart is the beak of the peakowl.
  4. I layered the punched eyes ( all punched with the OWL-Punch) over it.
  5. Last part for the body was to use one of the snipped-off-feet as hair for the peacowl.
  6. I used a gold-gel marker to decorate it.
  7. The feathers were made after I watched a tutorial for a Thanksgiving table setting by Kim Burmeister (one of my crafting-idols). Therefore, you use a scallop circle and fold it like its shown on the video and you get pretty feathers. I made these using a dark-blue patterned paper and then adhered the "feathers" onto the back of the body.
  8. The last step was to decorate the feathers with rhinestones in blue and green for the peacock-eye effect.

I hope you all like this creation.

Have a crafty day!!!
